This morning in Church the sermon was in titled "What if..." and Scripture was Numbers 11:24-30. At this point Moses was very old and had had the Spirit of God on him for many years. The Job of leading all the people was getting to be too much for him. So God told him to bring 70 elders, men that were all very well trusted and respected among the camp. Moses went to talk to God and God took some of the Spirit that he had placed on Moese and put it on the 70 surrounding the tent. Then the 70 elders begin to prophesy , but that was the only time that they did it. Now Back at the camp two of the 70 elders did not go to the tent w/ Moese, but God knew that they were elders. He send his Spirit to them and they began to prophesy at the camp. Now the word got back to the group at the tent and they told Moses what was going on. Joshua, Moese's trusted, faithful aid, got mad and told Moese to stop them. And in vs. 29 it say that Moese told him:
..."Are you not jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord's people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!"
Moses was looking for a day when God would pour his Spirit on all believers. On the day of Pentecost that is what he did and he started his church that day. After that the new believers were anointed and let the Spirit live thought them 100%. They gave in to it and did as it led them everyday in everything. They sold there land and gave the money to the poor. They met everyday and prayed that more people would know the Lord that they did and give their lives too him. The Spirit transformed each and every life and it showed. As a result of all of this unbelievers saw how the believers lived and how they were different then the rest of the world . They saw there love for one anther and for them. They wanted to know more and then wanted what they had. I wounder what if every single believer lived the way these new believers did at the beginning. What kind of impact could we all have on this would. I believe that the end of Act 2 tells us what will happen. I believe that that could still happen today. Every believer needs to start diving into God's would and living out what it say in every way and everywere they go. The world needs to here our message. That is want they are looking for. They need Jesus. How do we do this first look at your life. Do you live your life everyday as Jesus would ? Do you start off everyday asking God to lead and guide you and then give your day to God? Do you follow thought w/ that all day everywhere you go? Do you look back on pds of your life and see were God has worked and prised him for it and do you look for him to work in you everyday activities? Now I am not saying this is the end all and be all list, but is what God has been showing me this week and is what I try to do everyday. And I did not say this as an expert by any means. If you ask me I am the one that need this most. The Lord has just brought me down a long hard road this yr and he has taught me a lot along the way. I have come out a much stronger person. I have come out an adult. Since I have been home God has been challenging me to take to the next level, to step up to the pleat. Now I challenging you to do the same. God is calling us all to do this, to change the world one person at a time.
Matt. 24: 14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, then the end will come.
What if we all did this, as a group of believers? What if look at the lives of great men of God like Jarry Falwell who did truely live this out everday, and did many great things for God. I think we could break down all the stereotypes out there and show the world our true heart. I know we can do this b/c I know that w/ God on our side we can do anything. So go ahead stand your ground and do what is right.
